IGNIPOST Chat lets you reach people on the app they use to talk to friends and family. That is a privilege, and these rules protect them, your number and every other IGNIPOST Chat user. If you break them, we can limit or suspend your account.
1. Consent first
- Message only people who gave you their consent to receive your messages on WhatsApp, or existing customers who expect messages from you, where the law allows that.
- Keep a record of how and when each contact agreed, so you can show it if asked.
- Tell people who you are in your messages, and make it easy for them to stop.
- Keep consent checks on in your flows, and do not change them to message people who have not agreed.
2. No bought, rented or scraped lists
- Do not import or message lists you bought, rented, swapped or downloaded.
- Do not collect numbers from WhatsApp groups, websites, directories or social networks to message them.
- Do not use IGNIPOST Chat to test lists of numbers to find out which ones use WhatsApp.
3. Honour opt-outs at once
- When a contact sends one of your opt-out keywords, or asks you to stop in any other words, stop marketing messages to that contact straight away.
- Do not add an opted-out contact back to a group, or import them again, unless they clearly agree again.
- Set opt-out keywords in the languages your customers use, for example STOP, ARRET or the Arabic word for stop.
4. Respect volume limits and delays
IGNIPOST Chat sets limits on how many messages, campaigns, contacts and API calls an account can use, and adds a random delay between recipients in campaigns. Some limits come from your plan, and some protect your number. Do not try to get around them, for example by lowering delays below what the product allows, splitting one campaign across many numbers, or opening extra accounts. Start slowly on a new number and grow your volume over time.
5. Banned content and uses
Do not send, store or automate content that:
- is illegal where you or the recipient are, or sells banned or regulated goods without permission;
- is deceptive, such as scams, phishing, fake prizes, fake giveaways, misleading links or false claims about products or prices;
- is sexual or adult content;
- promotes gambling, betting or lotteries;
- sells or promotes weapons, ammunition or explosives;
- harasses, threatens or shames people, including debt collection that harasses or threatens;
- is political campaign or election messaging sent in bulk;
- contains malware, viruses or links to harmful software;
- infringes copyright, trademarks or other people's rights;
- sexualizes minors, or supports violence, hate or terrorism.
6. No impersonation
Do not pretend to be another person, business, brand, bank, government body or WhatsApp itself. Do not use a profile name, photo or message that could make people think you are someone you are not.
7. Respect WhatsApp's terms
WhatsApp has its own terms and policies, and WhatsApp may restrict or ban any number at its own discretion, especially numbers that send unsolicited or bulk messages. You are responsible for your use of WhatsApp. Breaking these rules raises the risk that WhatsApp restricts your number, and we cannot reverse that. See section 4 of our Terms of Service.
8. Have a legal basis for every contact
You are the controller of your contacts' data. Before you message anyone, make sure you have a legal basis under the laws that apply to you and to them, such as the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and Morocco's law 09-08 on the protection of personal data (supervised by the CNDP). In practice that usually means consent, or a legitimate interest that the law accepts for existing customers. You must also follow local rules on direct marketing, and our Data Processing Addendum.
9. No malware or attacks
- Do not try to access accounts, numbers, data or systems you are not allowed to access.
- Do not probe, scan or test our systems for weaknesses unless you follow our responsible disclosure rules.
- Do not overload or disrupt the service, including through the API.
10. Keep your account secure
Use a strong password, give team members the lowest role they need, keep API keys secret and remove people who leave your team. You are responsible for what happens in your workspace and on your connected numbers.
11. Reporting abuse
If you see IGNIPOST Chat being used to break these rules, or you received spam from a business that uses it, email [email protected] with as much detail as you can, such as the sending number, screenshots and dates.
12. What we do when rules are broken
We may review activity linked to a report or to signs of abuse, such as high block rates or messages to contacts who opted out. Depending on how serious the problem is, we may:
- warn you and ask you to fix it;
- pause or cancel campaigns, chatbots, flows or AI replies;
- disconnect a number;
- suspend or close your account without refund, where the law allows;
- report illegal activity to the authorities.
Where we can, we will tell you before we act. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected] and we will look at it again.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
